How to Set a New Wallpaper on Chromebook: Chrome Never Looked So Good!

Changing the wallpaper on a Chromebook is a straightforward process. You can set your wallpaper using a custom image or choose from the built-in options. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open the Chromebook Settings:

    • Click on the time in the bottom-right corner of the screen to open the system tray.
    • Click on the gear icon (Settings) to open the Settings menu.
  2. Choose "Personalization":

    • In the Settings menu, look for the "Personalization" section. Click on it to open the personalization options.
  3. Select "Wallpaper":

    • Under the Personalization section, click on "Wallpaper."
  4. Choose Wallpaper Source:

    • You'll have several options for where to choose your wallpaper from:
    • Chrome OS Wallpapers: You can select from a collection of built-in wallpapers.
    • Google Photos: If you have photos uploaded to Google Photos, you can choose from your own images.
    • Custom Photos: You can upload your own image from your Chromebook's local storage.
  5. Select or Upload a Wallpaper:

    • Depending on your choice in the previous step, you'll be presented with options to select from the available wallpapers or upload your own image.
    • If you're choosing a built-in wallpaper, simply click on the one you like to set it as your wallpaper.
    • If you're uploading your own image, click on "Custom Photos" or the equivalent option, then select and upload the image you want to use.
  6. Adjust Wallpaper Settings (Optional):

    • After selecting or uploading an image, you can often adjust the settings for how it appears on your desktop. This may include options like positioning, zooming, or blurring the image.
  7. Preview and Set Wallpaper:

    • Review how your selected wallpaper will look on your Chromebook's desktop. If you're satisfied, click the "Set wallpaper" or equivalent button to apply it.
  8. Exit Settings:

    • Once your wallpaper is set, you can close the Settings menu.

Your new wallpaper should now be displayed on your Chromebook's desktop. The process may vary slightly depending on the Chromebook model and the version of Chrome OS, but these general steps should guide you in changing your wallpaper.
